Gåsebäck is an isolated island nowadays, separated from Helsingborg, a place with identity, but lost in the city context. The challenge is to renew, recycle and densify the area, transforming it into a quality neighbourhood.
The aim is to create a sustainable community based on its identity and explore the personality that already exists on Gåsebäck. The graffiti creates a unique culture in the neighbourhood, creating a unique opportunity for a fresh start. The idea is to focus on the construction of a cultural community held in the social, economic and environmental aspects.
The strategy mainly focuses on the sustainability concepts and Gåsebäck’s identity, especially its “street” culture (graffiti, skate, hip hop, etc.). Assuming the existing cultural spaces are hiding in the area, they need light and can become a powerful force to transform the region into a unique and sustainable community.
There is a lack of housing and no sense of community in the area. Due to its location in Helsingborg it is possible to transform the neighbourhood into a cultural landmark.
